There are two periods when people can sign up for Obamacare coverage: Open Enrollment and Special Enrollment.
The Open Enrollment Period occurs every year and currently begins on November 1, 2024 and ends on January 15, 2025. For those already enrolled in a plan, Open Enrollment is also a time to make changes by either switching to a new plan or updating your current one. Even if you are happy with your current plan and require no changes, please note that you must re-enroll during the Open Enrollment Period.

If you miss Open Enrollment, you can still get an Obamacare plan if you qualify for the Special Enrollment Period. The Special Enrollment Period begins when you have certain life changes. Examples include getting married/divorced, having a baby, losing health coverage, moving to a new state, and more.
